The Blenders are a classic rock band in Raleigh, born from members of local Raleigh area bands such as The Groove Daddies, and Twist of Fate. Out front, singing lead vocals and playing electric acoustic guitar, is the lovely Ann Adams. Ann has been gigging solo for years, and now has put her talent in front of a band and she's showing she's got what it takes! Along with Mark Peebles' raspy growling vocals; it gives the band two lead singers, a variety that most bands don't have. The whole band is a mix of talented musicians with very diverse musical influences. That's what makes the group different from anything else in the Triangle. Bringing so many different types of music together makes for a magical "blend;" hence the name, "The Blenders."
The songlist includes covers from artists such as Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Joss Stone, Steely Dan, Sheryl Crow, Crosby Stills and Nash, Little Feat, Pink Floyd, Santana,The Doors, and Donna the Buffalo; mixed with Ann's melodic originals and a few rockers from the guys, it showcases all the band's talents and expertise which create "The Blenders" soulful style and unique sound.
The drummer, Bob Allen, plays a funky/ jazzy style of percussion, complementing Mark Peebles' blues/ rock bass. Joe Weeks' electric guitar leads and fillers complete the sound. Now with new member Ray Hall's solid guitar riffs and smooth slide the ensemble is complete. The band's vocals are really strong, making for amazing harmonies. The sound comes together so fluently that you have to get up and dance, or just sing along.
